Llafuriwr Gardd is a Garden Labourer.
In English the "climb down" from a Farmer to a mere Labourer seems drastic,
but in the Welsh of rural Wales where there were few or no "gentleman
farmers", it probably means that a son (or son in law) had taken over the
farm and that the father was doing lighter work in his old age.
All the best

Subject: [GWYNEDD] translation from welsh
Can anyone help me with a translation? My gt, gt, grandfather was a farmer
(Amaethwr) of Dryllycar, Llanaber in 1881, and in 1901a Llafuriwr Gardd I
think the Gardd part means garden. I would be grateful for any help.
