There are 229 Samuel wills for the whole of Wales 1650-1740. I would suggest looking
through as this would seem the first step. Some wills in the Bangor registry at this time
mention people "abroad" but I have not come across one which says "in
America" - as an online resource, it would be useful for these links to be
transcribed either over here or "over there" where you are!Yours sincerely,Ian

Hi,
I am trying to find any information on a Society of Friends (Quaker) Samuel(s) family
from near Dolgellau, Merionethshire, Wales during the period of 1650 to 1700
William Samuel and wife Mary (Margaret) came to America by 1697 and settled in the Welsh
tract near Philadelphia Pennsylvania, U.S.A. There they attended Radnor and Gwynedd
Monthly Meetings in America. Their three children were born in America: Joseph 1697,
Isaac 1700 and Elizabeth 1702.
Any information, clues or places to search in Welsh records or genealogies would be
greatly appreciated and highly valued. Sort of facing a brick wall now.
Many thanks,
Harry

Swarthmore College holds many of the Friends Society Records

There is also a Quaker roots list with a lot of very knowledgeable people.
Swarthmore holds the records for one group of Quakers, there is another
group who holds records for another type of Quaker, I am just sorry I can't
think of it.

For all that has been, thanks.
For all that will be, yes.
