My Taid's family came from Caerhun (in the Conwy valley), it confused me at
first because I found the Caerhun near Bangor and thought it was that one.
Caerhun itself does not seem to be much more than the old parish church
there and many of the parishioners lived in the surrounding area, mine were
in Roewen (often just written as Roe) and there are other villages around
there.
My ancestors moved to Deiniolen but there seemed to be some movement back
and forward between there and Caerhun.

Subject: [GWYNEDD] script assistance?? Caerhyn???
I am looking at the 1861 Wales Census for Llanberis at the name of William
Edwards, border, 18 yrs of age, a slate quarry laborer.
His birth place is listed as Carnarvonshire, and what looks like Caerhyn.
Is that correct? Where it is located?
Thank you.
