Possibly Edern, not far from there. An adjacent parish to Ceidio.
There's a map of the parishes of Caernarvonshire (old spelling) at:
http://chtg.gwis.co.uk/parish2.htm
The Gwynedd Family History Society sell microfiches of the parish
records, too.

I need help please with a parish/place name in Carnarvon. I am trying
to help a friend find where her gggrandmother, Ellen Davies, originated from in Wales. She
has a short family history that states: "She was born in Cedren, Sir Canaervon, North
Wales in 1831, came to America in 1854, and died on February 4, 1897".
I could not find the name of "Cedren" but did find an Ellen Davies born 22 May
1831 to Robert Davies and Ann in Deneio, Carnarvon. I can't seem to find the family on
the 1841 census but on the 1851 census I found Ellen Davies, 19, born in Pwllheli,
Caernarvonshire, Wales, with Robert and Ann Davies.
There is a Ceidio and Deneio within about 5 miles of Pwllheli.
Do you think that either of these could possibly be "Cedren?"
Thanks for any help or suggestions.
