More in hope than expectation, but hoping the following will ring a bell with someone:
anyone interested in Llannor in the 1740s please get in touch!
Griffith John Llannor will 1746
siblings
1) Ellin Jones Exchequer Aberdaron will 1773 and her husband Love Evan of Meillionydd Bach
Llanfaelrhys Admon 1758
2) Anne Jones Llannor Admon 1742 and her husband Griffith Jones Llannor will 1742
3) Margaret Jones (died prior to 1746)
4) Mary [?] Jones children William Daniel and John Daniel [possibly married Daniell
William miller of Llannor admon 1731]
I am most interested in the 2nd couple Anne and husband Griffith (both died in or around
1742). Their children were:
John Griffith (Lleferin Llanengan died 1794 will 1795, customs officer at Penryhn Du,
Llanengan) [my gt gt gt &c grandfather] [MI in Llanengan Church]
Roger Griffith (fl Beaumares 1742)
Gainor Griffith (married Richard Rowland Llannor)
Jane
Mary
Anne
Catherine
Love Evan is found in Gleanings from God's Acre baptised in 1699 son of Evan Humphrey
(admon 1717 Llanfaelrhys) and Catherine John Rowland (will 1753). They were at Bachelling
(Bachellyn, Llanbedrog) in 1699.
I would be delighted if any of the above makes any sense or rings any bells. I
haven't been able to find the parents of the Jones sibings above but think that
Griffith Jones [Llannor 1742] was related to the family of Nant Llanbedrog as this was
later owned by his son John Griffith.
Sorry for the ramble - all of the above has come courtesy of the NLW wills index which is
worth searching by parish and by name and contains wills up to 1858. From about 1650 in
Bangor and very early (1550 ish) in St Asaph.
Yours sincerely,
