Hi Geraint,
Thank you for your prompt reply. I appreciate you taking the time to look for my Henry.
These Henrys are certainly possibles and I will continue digging.
Best wishes for your continued success in your genealogical quest.
Thanks again,
Deborah

Hello Deborah,
OK. When I discovered my error with the parents of William Parry, I more
or less started from scratch again. Couldn't find anything using the normal
avenues, IGI, etc so I then checked the Non Conformists. I subscribe to the
Genealogist which has access to these records. I then found a new baptism of
my William Parry with his parents John and Mary. The record also showed the
parents of Mary. Unfortunately I couldn't go any further. So to your query.
All I could find in the Non Conformists was a record for Henry Parry
from Nefyn who was born 4/6/1813, baptised 30/6/1813 with father Thomas
(Farmer) and mother Mary (Jones) also from Nefyn. The baptism was recorded
in llangybi which is 8.1 miles from Nefyn. So both parents were living in
Nefyn and of course so was Henry although he was baptised in Llangybi. That
was most probably the closest nonconformist church.
I also have a fiche of Nefyn which covers the period 1807 - 1815. I
found the following entry. Henry base son of Ellis Parry and Mary Parry his
concubine bap 17/3/1809.
That's all I could find. I did look in the non conformists for
marriages of Thomas and Mary and Ellis but no luck.
regards
Geraint

Dear Geraint,
I found your post very intriguing. Where did you find your initial
information re John Parry marrying Mary Williams?
My Great Great Grandfather, Henry Parry, Cordwainer, was born in Nefyn about
1811, based on census and later vital records. However, I have never been
able to find out who his parents (or any siblings) were or any record of his
baptism.
Henry left Nefyn before 1839 when he married Ann Hughes in Llandeiniolen. He
worked as a boot maker for miners in Dinorwic, was a deacon in the C.M.
church there, and died in 1889. He and Ann had eight children, seven of
whom survived to adulthood. Three emigrated to the US, including my Great
Grandfather, John Hughes Parry, a C.M. pastor in Holyhead,Anglesey and then
Utica, New York. He died at 54 in 1899. He and his siblings are well
documented but his father Henry's origins and early life are a mystery.
I have had very little luck finding any records from Nefyn that may be of
help. Despite the very common Parry surname, I am always looking for
possible connections.I would be grateful if you would share information of
any records you may find of Parrys in your Nefyn time frame in hopes that I
may find a clue.
I will gladly share any crumbs I may find. I have pretty much exhausted the
pertinent holdings of the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah but
will be there again in late March. Please let me know if there is anything
you would like me to look for.
Best regards,
