Would someone please advise on the above.
Some of my relations have connections with Niwbwrch.
The Parish Burial Records for the late 19th. century show two places of burial.
[1] The churchyard at St. Peter's.
[2] Graves in the Trust Burial Ground. My hen nain, Anne Owens, is buried here.
[a] Where is the Trust Burial Ground?
I have visited a 'cemetery' in Newborough which is situated on the left side of
the road leading from the centre of Newborough to St. Peter's church, and the
'cemetery' is just after a left hand bend, some 100 yards or so after the Church
itself. I wonder if this is it?
[b] What is meant by " the Trust Burial Ground ". I understand, although I
stand to be corrected, that a burial ground purely gives a right of burial unlike a
cemetery, but who are these Trustees, and were only certain classes of persons allowed to
be buried there?
[3] Is the " Trust" Burial Ground something different from a Church Burial
ground? Who are the Trustees?
[4] Why and when was it created?
I would like to pay my respects to my hen nain next time I'm in Niwbwrch.
The Trust Burial Ground Records are included in the Parish Burial Records, and the burials
were carried out by the incumbent Rector and therefore, there presumably must have been
some connection with the Anglican church.
I look forward to receiving any answers, in part or as to the whole of my questions.
My main question is " Where is it ? "
Thanking you in anticipation.
Jim Owen, Rhyl.
