Hi Dewi,
I have found your family in 1861 and therefore an address which is Ty Mawr,
pen ucha Dwygyfylchi.
Your 'Elins' is now a son and therefore I think it could possibly be
Elias....just a hunch! The genders of the transcripted persons are way
off...Catherine is a son and so on. I will send census page off list.
Hwyl
Patricia

Subject: [GWYNEDD] 1851 census, Dwygyfylchi
Can anyone help me with completing an 1851 lookup?
I'm looking for a Grace Jones in Dwygyfylchi in 1851. According to the
subsequent census (1861-1901), she was born in 1839 in Dwygyfylchi (various
spellings given, Rhiwgyfyldi being the best).
Grace married an Owen Jones of Eglwysbach about 1860. In 1861 Grace and Owen
are living in Eglwysbach. Interesting is that Elizabeth Jones, aged 11, also
born in Dwygyfylchi is boarding with the family. This leads me to think that
Grace's maiden name was also Jones.
The IGI has both a Grace, b 1839 and an Elizabeth, b 1851 (so near enough),
whose parents are Elias and Ellen Jones. There are 6 other children of Elias
and Ellen, but I'm not sure whether this is the family I'm looking for.
I was sent the following info from Conwy Archives:
Elias Jones- farmer of 20 acres employing men and wife Elinor Jones had 5
children at that time. Grace 12 years, Jane 8 years, John 5 years, Elian/s?
(unclear but listed as daughter) 2 years and Elizabeth 2 months.
But unfortunately there is no folio, page or schedule number. Also, no
address which would be most helpful.
MAny thanks
Dewi
