Eureka - what a way to start the New Year! I have finally located my
elusive Owen WILLIAMS (Jr) in 1851 (still hunting for his parents though).
There he is, aged 12, at Llanbedr, Hafod Coed working on his maternal
grandparents (EDWARD) farm as an ag lab. One step closer :-)
But where is he in 1861?????
I have also located an Owen WILLIAMS (Sr) who could possibly be his father.
In 1851 he is farming at Uwchmynydd, Garthgell. He is aged 60, widowed.
The farm isn't far from the Clogau mines where OW (Jr) is reputed to have
worked and is close to Bontddu where OW (Sr) is supposed to have hailed
from, so fingers crossed.
So, would some kind person be able to check the 1841 census for me please?
Firstly:
Hafod Coed at Llanbedr (or might have been Hendre Coed Uchaf, Llanaber in
1841) in case OW (Jr) is with his grandparents even then.
Owen EDWARD(S) (65)
Eleanor/Ellin (54)
Elizabeth (33)
Richard (30)
Gwen (25)
Ellis (18)
Owen (18)
William (15)
and secondly:
Uwchmynydd, Garthgell
Owen WILLIAMS (50)
wife??
Richard (16) ??
Robert (9)
Thanks so much for any help.
