Hi Dorothy
I have an Evan Jones in my family but he was born in Dolbenmaen. Was your Cadwalader
Jones's wife named Alice by any chance?
Regards Jeanette

Dear listers
I have a delemma which is driving me nuts.
I recently discovered my husbands great grandfather Calwalader Jones bn 1847, living in
Llanrwst in the 1851 census. He had a brother Evan bn 1850. Their father Lewis was a
farmer. More recently still, I discovered that my daughter in law's family also lived
in the Llanrwst area. His name was also Evan bn c1850 and farmed in the same area. I am
wondering if both Evans are the same person. The census returns have proved a hit and miss
in finding details. I am wondering where I will find parish registers, on film, fiche or
hard copy. In the 1841 and 1851 census my huisbands family lived at HendreWen on the
Llanrwst to Betws y Coed road. I haven't found any census return later than 1861.
