Hi
Would anyone possibly have access to census records of 1820 or 1830 in the area of
Llanarmon, near Aberserch and Pwllheli. The names are Hugh Williams married to Elinor
Williams, with by 1830 at least one child - William Hugh Williams born May 21, 1926 (my GG
grandfather). There may have been one other child named David. William Hugh Williams
married Margaret Jones and left for the U.S. around 1850.
Also - this past summer we visited Llanarmon, a fairly small area composed mostly of
non-working farms. There were two churches - one Capel Helyg was founded in 1652 and the
other was very old church overgrown with grass and weeds. The most common names in the
small church cemetery were Williams, Jones, Owen, Parry, Griffiths, Evans and Davies. I
assume these are common Welsh names. Would anyone know how i might find out the name of
the church and whether or not they have records.
Any assistance greatly appreciated. Thank you.

My father's name is Guilford Ward Williams. His GGrandparents came from Llanarmon
near Berch and about ten minutes from Pwellhi (spelling/). Could anyone tell me if
Guilford is a walsh name. Many thanks.

Mary
Guilford is a place name in England and I do not know it as a Welsh name at all.
Pwellhi is spelled PWLLHELI.
