Hi Alwyn
What you say is very interesting and certainly worth doing and releasing the 1911 and
1921 census, well that didn't even occur to me that it was possible. It would be nice
to know if the family I have found in Lonygert are part of our family or adopted my
grandad. I will speak to my mother and will certainly let you
know the outcome.
Kind Regards
Jeanette

Because finding out if she is part of the genetic family or part of an
adoptive family might be of emotional and even legal importance to your
mother, rather than just a "family tree" issue, the ONS might be willing to
release some details to her from the 1911 and 1921 census under the freedom
of information act without having to wait for their official release date.
I know that some individuals obtained early information from the 1901 census
in similar circumstances.
Why not write to them and ask, the worst that could happen is that they say
no?

To Alwyn and Ian
Thank you very much for your reply. I think I have a mystery here or
they do not want we to find out, on the marriage it states Hugh Jones
(deceased) as the father, my mother always felt he might of been adopted.
I have found the family in Garndolbenmaen I have there births and some of
the deaths
all came under Ffestiniog, My mother and her brothers middle name was
Oscough, so it must of meant something to my grandfather. I will just
have to wait for the 1911 censuses to come out maybe that might tell me
more.
This all started with a letter which my mother found after my
grandfather died, but she had already tried to search his birth when I
was a teenager (long time ago)!! with no luck, but I have managed to locate
Hugh Jones and his
family at Lonygert, Garndolbenmaen in 1891 and 1901 that much we know
is true.
Thank you all anyway, everyone is so helpful, this is what makes it
so enjoyable.
Kind regards
Jeanette
