Val,
Have you tried looking for burials on the Amlwch web site?
www.amlwchdata.co.uk
There are also some census reports there.
I couldn't help wondering if your John Jones might be related to my Mary
Jones (b.1830 Anglesey). I have been searching for her parents for years.
She is the first wife of Capt. John Williams (b.1821 Denbighshire, d. at
sea 1879). His 3rd wife (Mary Griffith) was living with their children
in Amlwch at the time of his death.
Another place you can look is the Welsh mariners web site:

I have a John Jones, born about 1831 in Amlwch who was a mariner. He
shows up on the 1861 census (on Brickfield St.), married to Mary Jones
(Williams) with 3 children, Hugh, John and Elizabeth. In 1871 they have
two more children, Ann (my ggrandmother) and Thomas. It seems John is at
sea. The 1881 census shows Mary Jones living with an unmarried daughter
Ann (21) on Methusalem St.
Is there anyone who can tell me anything more about John's death, as it
seems he died between 1871 and 1881. I can't seem to find him anywhere.
I know they (Mary and John) are both buried at Llanelian church in
Anglesey, but as I live in Canada, I can't check gravestones. Can anyone
help?

My John Williams had two friends/associates named in his will-- Robert
Jones of Amlwch Ship Owner, and Owen Owen of Amlwch, Flour Merchant
WILL OF JOHN WILLIAMS, D. ABT. 22 MARCH 1879, LOST AT SEA If he was born
about 1822, he was approximately 57 years of age at his death. Will
dated 3 March 1877, prov. 28 August 1880 by Mary Williams, widow. The
widow had been Mary Griffiths before marrying Capt. John Williams, master
of the Rose Schneider, lost at sea.
Does anyone connect to either Owen Owen or Robert Jones of Amlwch?
