I am looking for information on LEWIS JONES (b.1809 Holyhead Anglesey).
I think he may be the father of my MARY JONES (b.1830 Anglesey). She
married Capt. John Williams about 1850 and had a child, my gggrandmother
in 1851. It seems that she died while the child was young as he had
another wife by about 1857. I am searching for this LEWIS JONES as I
reason Mary's father had to have an occupation that put him in touch with
other seaman. John Williams was b.1822 in Llanddulas, Denb.
According to the Welsh mariners web site, LEWIS JONES was on the Leinster
from 1865 to 1871. I don't know the dates of the Harlequin (another of
his ships), since that was in the daughter's baptismal record (Dec. 1830)
as his occupation (steward)--it said formerely of the Harlequin, as
though he was no longer affiliated with the ship. I do not have this
baptismal record but found it on the internet.
I would appreciate any information.
