Hello there I am new to Gwynedd list. Most of my family originate in Denbigh
but I am trying to trace a missing ancestor who was the brother of my great
grandfather, Isaac Williams.
DAVID WILLIAMS was born Denbigh in 1841, weeks after the 1841 census was
taken.
He is living with his mother and elder brother in Denbigh in 1851 but then
we lose track of him other than he is a witness to his elder brother's
wedding in Denbigh in 1862.
I have a possible location for David in Abererch in 1881
RG11 5556 FOLIO 35 PAGE 17.
Dwelling Ty Ychaf, Abererch, Caernarvon.
Dorothy HUGHES - Head Ag Labs Widow, Widow, age 75, Caernarvon, Wales
David WILLIAMS - Son in Law, unemployed stereotyper, married, age 39, born
Denbigh, Denbighshire
Mary WILLIAMS - Daur, married, age 46, born Caernarvon, Wales
I have earlier census returns for the HUGHES family going back to 1841 where
Dorothy Hughes is married to Robert HUGHES born about 1801 (Llanaelhaiarn).
In 1841 the HUGHES family are living at Carregweinion, Betws Garmon.
I would like to hear from any Gwynedd listers who may have links to this
HUGHES family, and may be able to throw light on the marriage of David
Williams to Mary Hughes?
ROBERT HUGHES born c.1801
DOROTHY HUGHES born c.1806
MARY HUGHES born c.1834
hope someone may be researching this family.
best wishes
Julian Williams
