The baptism for a William Griffith, son of John Williams *could* be your later William
Jones. I just wanted to make that general point.
Surnames were very fluid at this time. In fact, It seems that - unfortunately - just at
the cross-over between PRs and civil registration that surnames were possibly most fluid
for many people.
