Dear Alwyn ap Huw,
Having picked up your e-mail re the North Wales Family History Fair on
WLS-Gwynedd this is the reason why the Fair has been put on hold. I
appreciate your disappontment for cancellation in 2005 and 2006 due to
building work and also this year. As you may be aware this event has been a
joint affair between Gwynedd and Clwyd Family History Societies, with the
organising Committee being officials of of both Societies. This event takes
some two years in planning. As you might realise officials do change and the
newly elected have their own ideas. Due to the building works during the
past two years and ill-health problems to a few of the officials and lack of
volunteers and also the increase in hiring it has been decided for the time
being to put a hold on the Fair. If however, somebody else would like to
take on the responsibilty of running the event I would be very grateful to
heaar from them.
J. Bryan Jones - Secretary Gwynedd Family History Society and a member
of the North Wales Family History Fair Committee.

Subject: [GWYNEDD] North Wales Family History Fair
Clwyd and Gwynedd Family History Societies use to have a joint
Family
History Fair at the North Wales Theatre in September / October. It was
cancelled in 2005 and 2006 because the theatre was undergoing building
work.
The work on the theatre has now finished, but I've seen no mention of the
fair being resurrected this year, does anybody know if the fair is to be
held again or if the idea has now been abandoned?
All the best
Alwyn
