That is why I am surprised that more do not make the information more easily
available to people can look up for themselves online and then a plan on
display in the cemetery.
I have mentioned previously that Conwy Council have placed a plan on a board
in each of their cemeteries, it only identifies blocks of graves but I was
able to find and photograph nearly all the war graves in Dwygyfylchi a
couple of weeks ago by using the plan (I photographed it a few weeks
previously so I could carry a copy around). There is only one that I cannot
find and I suspect that it is either not marked or overgrown.
My own home town has the indexes to burials in all the local cemeteries on
film in the local library but they are not able to get plans of the
cemeteries so you still have to go to the cemetery office to find where the
graves are located. I

They did comment that these days they are receiving numerous
enquiries regarding location of old graves! So, a plea on
their behalf to limit any enquiries to a reasonable number of
gravesites or you may get charge!!
