We had an excellent programme on BBC2 Scotland last night about the Battle
of Waterloo. This followed five 'Scottish' soldiers through the battle, one
was Lewis Griffiths who was married to Jenny Jones. I just did a search and
found this website about her.

The programme was only shown in Scotland but I am sure it will be repeated
on BBC2 network or BBC4 and of course it is available on iPlayer.

HISTORY DOCUMENTARY: The Scots at Waterloo
Channel: BBC 2 Scotland 02
Date: Tuesday 16th June 2015
Time: 21:00 to 22:00 (Already shown)
Duration: 1 hour.
Docudrama telling the story of the Battle of Waterloo as seen through the
eyes of four Scottish soldiers on the front line and one extraordinary army
wife. A quarter of the British officers and many of the crack regiments that
comprised Wellington's army of 1815 were Scottish. At Quatre Bras, the siege
of Hougoumont, the Royal Scots Greys cavalry charge, the capture of the
French Eagle of the 45th and the British squares, Scottish regiments and men
were in the thick of the action. Many of these soldiers became writers and
left terrifying vivid accounts of life on the front line. The film allows
these stories to unfold through gritty and realistic dramatic re-enactments
to provide a compelling portrait of the epic struggle that was Waterloo.
