Ebenezer is the old name for Deiniolen. Llanddeiniolen is the parish and
also a name for the rural area around the parish Church some 4 miles or so
from Deiniolen. Other villlages/hamlets in Llanddeiniolen parish include
Dinorwig, Clwt y Bont, Brynrefails. Penisarwaen, Bethel, Rhiwlas.
Just to confuse matters the upper half of Llanddeiniolen parish (containing
Dinorwig. Ebenezer, Clwtybont and Brynrefail) was carved off to form
Llandinorwig parish in 1857. This is not reflected in documents for some
reason with the whole lot lumped under Llanddeiniolen. There is a
Llandinorwig 'parish ' church at Deiniolen which has its own registers
since that date.
Llanbabo is a slang name for Ebenezer/Deiniolen. Lore has it that this is
because many men from the Llanbabo parish area of Anglesey settled in that
area when the Quarry activities really took off early 19th C.

I understand that Ebenezer is the old name for the community of
Llanddeiniolen (Deiniolen) near the Dinorwic quarries of North Wales.
What does "Llanbabo" mean in relation to those two names? Is it a house
name, a sub-district, or ???
Thanks.
