Hello Betty,
I am not sure if we are connected. I also have Ann THOMAS in my tree, but
I have her death as 1792. I have her married to Thomas EVANS, d. 1788 of
Rhos Fynach, buried at Llandrillo Yn Rhos Church. Ann's mother's surname
was PARRY and she made Parry as the children's middle name, which later
became the last name PARRY-EVANS
Growing up, I was told that I was related to Morgan the Pirate. I do not
believe that Sir Henry Morgan is the Morgan one that is related to me. My
G Grandmother was related to John Lewis Parry-Evans, who had in his
possession a sword of Elizabethan design that belonged to pirate Morgan ap John.
The sword has been handed down through the generations.
Rhos Fynach is still standing in Rhos-on-sea as a tavern. There is a sign
in there that claims to be the former home of Henry Morgan which only adds
to the confusion.
I have not been able to get the complete connection to Morgan ap John. I
do have that Thomas Parry, d. 1708, married R. Morgan sometime before 1675.
The family did have connections to Anglesey.
Probably doesn't help much. Hoping someone can fill in some blanks for me.
Best regards,
Bill Roden

Sir Henry Morgan
Thought to have been born in Llanrumney, then a village between Cardiff
and Newport, little is known of his early life.
A lot of famous Pirates came from Wales, here's about one, Sir Henry
Morgan.
It would be something if we could get a dna connection to a pirate.
This can be searched but link is broken

I have Morgans from Anglesey...William Edward Morgan of Amlwch, Anglesey,
a ships' chandler. Wife was Mary Parry, whose father was John Parry of
Aberdaron Caernarvonshire, b. in 1726 and mother was ANNE THOMAS
(1733-1812)--they moved to Llanpatrick/Llanbadrig, Anglesey after their
marriage at her father's home at Rhosgyll Fawr, Eifionydd, Caer.around
1770.
I don't think my Morgans are connected to Sir Henry Morgan, the pirate.
I wonder how he got the title.
