Hi Vicki,
I've had a look for you on Ancestry but can't seem to find Grace or Hugh
or Thomas! Where were she and Hugh living in 1841? Did they have a son
William b Festiniog 1839?
If you have her on later censuses, where do they say she was born?
Do you know where the Samuel surname originated?
Will try again if you can send a few more clues.
best wishes, Judith

Subject: [GWYNEDD] Trying to trace Grace Samuel
Hi
I am hoping someone can help me please. I am trying to trace an ancestor
Grace Samuel. I know she married Hugh Rogers and I have found her on the
census records when she is married to him and know about their children.
I am desperately trying to trace her parentage. I have a family history
written by my great grandfather which says Grace was the youngest daughter
of a Thomas Samuel, a ship and boat builder from Caernarfon, however I can
find no record of Thomas Samuel or a birth of Grace Samuel in 1814 either in
Bangor or Anglesey. I have found some inaccuracies in this history so it is
possible her father was not called Thomas.
Main question is can anyone look at christening / birth records for a Grace
Samuel in 1814, Anglesey or Bangor.
I also thought about getting her marriage certificate to Hugh, their banns
were read on September 9th 1836 in Bangor, but I do not know the exact date
of marriage and the banns give no other details other than their names.
Many thanks in advance
Vicki
