Dear Martin, I'm not sure about Penrhyn Brickworks but there is a slate quarry, near
Bethesda called Penhryn Qaurry. It's owner, Lord Penrhyn was very wealthy & had
extensive holdings and it wouldn't suprise anyone to find he also had brick works. He
created Port Penhryn to ship out his slate etc to lucrative markets elsewhere. You may
like to look at this link about the struggle of the workingman to get decent working
conditions - it centred on Penhryn quarry.

My Roberts & Hughes families lived in Penhryn & Bethesda.
Hope it helps,
Cheers

I wonder if anyone knows if there ever was a Penrhyn brickworks?
I had a wander around on the shore by Port Penrhyn last week and there were
quick a number of bricks from a demolished/collapsed structure. All the
readable ones had "P BC Ltd" on them, this made me wonder whether there
could have been a Penrhyn Brick Company Ltd though I can't find any
reference to it.

There are some pictures of bricks from the Penrhyn Quarry hospital and they
are not local so perhaps they did not have their own brickworks.
