Hi Lizzie
I'm really intrigued by your post, I am also researching the Lloyd
family apart from I believe mine came from the Llanbeblig Parish. I am
afraid my Welsh Geography is awful and I have no idea if this is in
the same region as Llanbedr or Llanfair.
I am trying to track a John Lloyd, who was born around this time, he
had 3 sisters Mary born 1779, Margaret born 1781, Elizabeth born 1796
and a brother Thomas born 1784, all in Llanbeblig, parents Thomas
Lloyd (originally of Vaynol, also spelt Vaenol), and wife Lowry.
Despite finding christening records for the other siblings, the only
evidence I have of John's exsistence Is from a hand written family
history which suggests he ended up in Jamacia owning a sugar
plantation, and his father's will (Thomas Lloyd died 1835), which
leaves a sum of money to each child, including son John. Other than
this I can find no trace of him. Could this be the same family? Also
could you tell me a little more about this geneologist Lewis Lloyd.
Many thanks, look forward to hearing from you
Vicki

I am trying to confirm the parentage of John LLOYD of Talwrn Bach,
Llanbedr.
The only record I have is from a hand-written chart sent to my
father by the
eminent genealogist, Lewis LLOYD, which indicates John's parents were
Robert LLOYD of Llanfair (1758-1798) and Lowry WILLIAM(S). They
married in
1780 at Llanfair.
John was born about 1785 and married Jane HUMPREY in 1808 at
Llanfair, MER.
Any help/suggestions much appreciated.
