Thanks for sharing that. It would seem likely that our great grandparents
would have known or certainly known of each other. Do you have access to
the 19th century British Library newspapers? I found an entry for a Jane
Ellen ROWLANDS in Y Genedl Cymreig (Caernarvon, Wales), Thursday, June 13,
1878; Issue 71.
It is in Welsh so I am not sure what it is about, but it is a list of people
so I think probably a concert or eisteddfod. It has her living in
Victoria-place in Bangor. Would she be your Jane Ellen?

And my greatgrandmother, Jane Ellen HUMPHREYS (nee ROWLANDS) (1865-
1935)was
organist at the Tabernacle Chapel, Bangor for many years.
She was married at that Chapel to John HUMPHREYS in March 1887 by the
Minister, Charles DAVIES, and the witnesses were William DAVIES and Annie
Lloyd WILLIAMS.
