It appears that the magazine Golwg miss-understood the press release!
Since Friday access to 1911 on-line census records has been available for free in Welsh
archive offices, those of us trying to access them from our own computers still have to
pay. How disappointing.
I apologies for disseminating Golwg's mistake and raising hopes that turned out to be
unfounded.
Sorry!

Subject: Welsh Census on line for free?
I noticed this very small article in Golwg Today:
(Translated)
As of tomorrow (Friday) details from the 1911 Welsh census will be available for free on
line. This information will be essential to family historians, it will be found on
www.archifaucymru.org.uk
The URL may be a Welsh language home page, if so I'm sure there will be an
"English" button available on the site.
Too early to try it out yet - but good news if it proves to be true!
all the best
