This is the second posting I have sent about my husband's family. This is about his
mother's maternal family:
She was born Laura Lilian DAVIES (1899-1995) in Everton. She married Thomas William ARCH
(1898-1972) in the Welsh Calvanistic Chapel, Everton in 1929. She had two unmarried
sisters Ellen Gwladys (1892-1990) and Elsie Gwendoline (1894-1984).
Laura's mother was Mary Ellen WILLIAMS (1868-1946) born in Liverpool. She married
James DAVIES an Engineer at Harland and Woolf shipyard in 1891. Her father was John
WILLIAMS (1837-1868) and her mother *Ellen JONES (1838-1891). They were both from Anglesey
and Ellen at least was from Brynsiencyn. They were married there in 1861 and were both
buried in Llanidan churchyard even though they were living in Liverpool. Mary Ellen was
the youngest of three children (John H (c1863-) and Francis P (c1866-) and her father John
died before she was born. Francis is said to have emigrated possibly to Australia.
I know very little of John WILLIAMS's parents except that his father was John WILLIAMS
and his mother probably Mary.
Ellen JONES's father was Owen JONES (1805-1874) of Fron, Brynsiencyn and her mother
was Mary PARRY (1806-1852) -may have been his second wife. Their other children were Ann
(c1829-); Jane (c1831-); Owen (c1836-); *Ellen (1838-1891); Griffith (c1840-);Mary
(c1842-);Griffith Parry (1843-1904);Hugh (c1846-) and Henry Parry (c1848-).
Mary PARRY's parents were Edward PARRY of Llyslaw and Jane LEWIS?.
Owen JONES when he died in 1874 left property, Parry's Place to his children in
Liverpool.
Once again, I'd be delighted to hear from any potential relations of my husband.
