The following tid bits are from Gwynedd Roots and might help someone.
JOHN PRICE, born at Holyhead in 1831, fied of comsumption in 1890 at Port
Louis when mate of the Mary McMaster.
EDWARD OWENS, born at Gwalchmai in 1822, served as Captain of the Norman
Morrison; the ship was last heard of at Adelaide on 5 October 1865, so he
was supposed to have drowned.
JOHN HUGHES was born at Beaumaris in 1839 and the Board of Trade gave his
1876 address as 10 Edmund St., Liverpool; whilst serving as Captain of
the Corisanda he died of yellow fever at sea on 2 March 1878.
THOMAS PARRY was born at Holyhead in 1855; whilst serving as First Mate
of the William Mitchell, he accused the master of trying to poison
him--examined by a medical man at Callo he was found to be suffering from
alcoholic poisoning bordering on delirium tremens and not responsible for
his actions.
RICHRD OWEN JONES, born at Ty Croes in 1861, was mention in despatches
for good service whilst employed on transport duties at the Dardanelles
(The Time, 1 June 1916)
DAVID ROWLANDS, born at Amlwch in 1865, committed suicide by drowning
whilst a passenger on the Insizura in 1903. He had made repeated
attempts at suicide whilst serving as First Mate of the St. Fillians but
the authorities concluded that he was probably suffering from sunstroke.
