Hi Glenys,
thank you for asking about Roberts in Llanddeiniolen and apologies for the tardy reply.
In the 1911 census I have Thomas Armstrong Roberts 26, a stone mason in slate quarry, wife
Annie 22 & Mary Cathrin 1 living at Incline, Clwt y bont.
Nearby at Tan y Foel, Gallt y Foel, Cwm y Glo, is his brother Robert H(enry) Roberts 40 a
stone mason, wife Maggie 42, Robert H 12, Hugh Rowland 8 & Jane 6.
There may be other siblings but haven't tracked them down yet. Mary Ellen Roberts
married a John Williams, William John Roberts. They were born Newborough, Anglesey.
Would they have worked at the same quarry?
I'm particulalry interested in finding Robert Wynn Roberts, son/grandson of one of the
above perhaps. He is reputed to have been an agent of one of the estates around the
area.
As a long shot I'm trying to trace Grace born 1902, her mother also Grace died soon
after giving birth. Grace Hughes was older sister of the above and one of them took in
baby Grace. The baby was the youngest of 10 children and, as far as they were aware her
older siblings had no idea she was their sister but thought she was a cousin. No idea
what her surname was.
Just hoping local gossip may throw up something.
I'm not expecting anything but thank you for reading this post.
cheers

Hi Trevor with a V not an F :)
?
I thought there might have been some transcriptions on the Genuki site.
However, you might try this site. It's fabulous. Gathering the Jewels,
there is a mention of Land Tax but don't know if your village is included.

Dear All,
Are Land Tax or Window Tax assessments available online for Llanfair
Mathafarn Eithf, AGY?
I have looked without success. Or does anyone have access to them, please?
I am aware that
Anglesey record Office, Llangefni, is about to close for months and it
would be a 500/600
mile round trip to Anglesey anyway for me.
I am after a single address, but for as many years as possible (tracing
the house's
history).
Hoping against hope,
Trevor
