Presumably you have the Ancestry information from the 1901 census of Llanwnda Digbeth
Terrace:
Richard (Quarryman) and Ann both aged 37, children Thomas Richard Thomas 11, Robert Henry
Thomas 9, William Thomas 7, Katie Blodwen Thomas 5, Maggie Ann 3 Howell 1 and Geor (looks
more like Ivor to me) 9 mo?
The father was b Llangadwalader, Angelsey, the others in Llanwnda apart from the eldest
who was born in Llanbeblig.
They are there in 1891 as a married couple with just the eldest.
Do you need me to look further? Is he the Richard Thomas resident in Cwt, Llangadwaladr
in 1871 aged 7 son of Robert Thomas (28) and Margaret (25)? with brothers Henry 4 and
Robert 1?
Is he aged 16 in Liverpool in 1871, a bricklayer apprentice, with uncle and aunt Richard
and Ellen Owen (although the place of birth is Holyhead for this Richard and simply
"Anglesea" for the other 2 it might be worth making a note?).
Robert is a candidate in 1861 as a 19 year old carter in a Llangadwalader farm but born in
Trefdraeth. A similar thought occured as I looked at the 1861 census in Trefdraeth and
find an 8 year-old Robert in Cairtunun (?) son of William and Cathrine Thomas, he a
boatman aged 53 and she 48.
I haven't looked any further as these searches are a bit nonsensical without more
knowledge!
Yours,
Ian
Hi Angharad. Thanks so much for the offer of help. Yesterday I
received an
e-mail from someone who had access to microfiche and they looked up the
info. on my family members. I now just need to identify the following;
1. Robert Henry Thomas b. 1891 in Bontnewydd d. 1975 in Bontnewydd (wife:
Winifred
Allcock)
2. William Thomas b. 1893 in Llanwnda d. 8/7/1983 in Bontnewydd (Veteran/Red
Cross leader)
3. Ifor Thomas b. 1900 in Llanwnda d. 1960 in (?) (wife: Sydney Unknown)
In an earlier posting you stated later burials in the area were at Cefnfaes
cemetery, Rhostryfan, so if anyone has access to info. for that place, I
would greatly appreciate a lookup.
Thanks again and best wishes,
Katie Thomas
