Those who have read the recent edition of Family History Monthly will have
seen that there is a new series of articles on how to create your own family
history web site.
I think that it is a good idea for every family historian to record his/her
family tree on a web site:
1. It keeps all you information safe, in case your home computer blows up.
2. It is easier to send people to a web address than to send them a zipped
file in an e-mail.
3. If you site is connected to a search engine relation's who you do not yet
know may be able to find you.
Any member of a Rootsweb list (such as this one) is entitled to a free family
history web by registering with:

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/</A>
Having registered there is a load of information available on how to build
your web site at:

The one block that people have that stops them applying for a web site is the
thought that their research is not worthy. Having browsed the sites that are
already on Rootsweb I have found some that say no more than my name is Jo my
dad's name is Bill my mum's name is Liz if you are related e-mail me at ---.,
some say even less but show lovely pictures of the family cat!!!
So DON'T BE SHY, apply for a Free web site to record your tree.
(And remember to let list members know about it once it is created)
All the best
