In case Marry adopted that spelling in adult life for some reason, maybe a
personal quirk, I have looked at the 1851 census for Llanfrothen and found
the following family with a Mary of the right age, Alice as mother, Jane ,
John and Catherine as siblings. People usually named their children after
parents or siblings in those days, and here there are 4 matching names. It
could be significant, or it might be coincidence.
Really you need to apply to the appropriate register office to get the
marriage record of Thomas Williams and Marry, around 1865, which could be in
Merionethshire (Ffestiniog area) or Caernarfonshire Register office,
depending on where they got married; unless of course your are unlucky and
they married away from the area.
Marry may have used that spelling for the marriage record, which would help.
If you find the marriage record you will get the names and occupations of
the father of Thomas and Marry, which would be very useful to you. You
could then confirm or reject the family below.
Mae'r cofrestrydd yn Ffestiniog yn ddefnyddiol iawn. Rwy wedi cael digon o
wybodaeth trwy ffonio hi.
