Thanks for the encouraging words, to answer your question regarding how I had
obtained my information regarding Thomas Hughes and my Ellen Hughes, nee
Jones. I had obtained my grandfather's death certificate and on it were the
names of his parents-Thomas and Ellen Hughes, nee Jones. Also, I have my
grandfather's immigration records stating he was from Anglesey North Wales.
Then, I also obtained the marriage certificate of my grandparents and written
on that was the names of the fathers-Thomas Hughes, farm labourer, Anglesey
this was on April 23,1910-the date of the marriage of my
grandparents....Thomas and Laura Hughes, nee Roberts. So-this information
comes from my grandfather's death certificate, his immigration papers and
also the wedding certificate which I had secured. I have sent away for a
birth certificate of my grandfather....or of who I think is the right one, in
hopes of finding out some more information. Am still awaiting it's arrival. I
was hoping that if my grandfather, Thomas Hughes was born c. November 17.1881
and registered in 1882 the first quarter that there would be a clue there for
me. Also, however upon the marriage certificate of my grandparents.....Thomas
and Laura his age was given as26yrs old on April 23.1910. Yet upon his death
certificate it had his birth in 1881. Guess it depends upon which certificate
one looks at! One thing for sure both his immigration papers and his marriage
certificate had the same date on it. Saying all that to say this....if
someone had the 1891 census perhaps, a lookup of Thomas and Ellen Hughes with
a son born about 1881, 1882, or 1883 would lead me to my
great-grandparents.....Thomas and Ellen Hughes, nee Jones.
Know this is confusing and I have been working on this for two years now and
am at a standstill....do you have any idea of which direction I can go in or
where else to look for information.
Regards,
Lynn
