I am trying to trace my family history. Unfortunately, I have very little information but
I am hoping that someone will recognise some of the information I do have.
My father was Martin Pierce. He died in 1963 when I was 12 years old. His father's
name was Richard Pierce and I have been told that he may have had a farm at the foot of
Mount Snowden. My father had a brother also called Richard. I believe he had two sons
and moved to America (New York), probably in the 1930's/40's. There was also a
sister but I do not know her name and their was a neice called Patricia, she may have
moved to the Scarborough area.
I believe my father lived in the Corwen area at some time. I think he worked on a farm
and I have been told that he moved to Worminghall, Buckinghamshire, with the farmers son,
to work for him, when he bought a farm there. This was probably around 1945-1947, as he
joined the Army in 1939 and gave a London address. I believe he may have been a Barman at
that time.
From what I can remember he spoke fluent welsh.
My father was in the Royal Army Service Corp during the 2nd World War and on his discharge
papers he gave an address in Seacombe (Wallasey/Birkenhead area).
That is about all the information I have. If anybody recognises any of this information
or can give me any help on where to look I would be grateful.
We have been unable to find a Birth Certificate for him.
