Hello Everyone!
I have a note in a gentleman's pocket diary of 1850 which states that "Mrs
Salusbury died at 25 mins past 2 aged 93" on 25th April.
In the diary there is also mention of dining at "Salusbury Place",
"Visiting Chambers" and "opening the bowling green" (2nd May 1850) - I
do not know who the owner of the diary was but believe it was one of my relatives.
I have received today the death certificate of Sarah Salusbury (widow of Thomas Salusbury
gentleman) who died on 25th April 1850 at Salusbury Place. The informant (and in
attendance) was John Salusbury of the Infirmary Denbigh.
I have a G.G. grandfather John Salusbury registered as a surgeon on his marriage
certificate of Dec 1852 at High Street Conwy. His father was also John Salusbury
(farmer).
Questions:
1) Was it only the legal profession that would have frequented "chambers"?
2) Has anyone got access to the 1841 census for Denbigh that might throw some light on
Sarah and her relatives?
3) Does anyone know anything about Salusbury Place circa 1850?
4) Does anyone know anything about the Infirmary at the same time?
Sorry for the long list (some of which is repeated from an earlier message I know) - it
may be some time before I can get quality time in Denbigh to search for myself.
Any help appreciated - I am so close!!
Thanks,
Carol A Salusbury-Byrne
