Greetings!!! Thought I'd throw in my two cents...
I'm along county lines back and forth between Brecon, Monmouth and Powys.
Have ordered the BT's for Llangattock, but would like to put this out
there for any possible CALLIN/CULLIN/CULLEN family members that know how
these two families blended.
Looking for the family of Charles and Isaac CALLIN/CULLIN/CULLEN, abt.
1810, Llangattock, BRE, Wales who I believe were brothers.
Charles was married twice, first to Mary FUDGE, daughter of Samuel and
Sarah FUDGE. Two children survived from that marriage a James
CALLIN/CULLIN born 1837 Beaufort, MON and a daughter Ann born abt. 1843.
Charles's second marriage to Hannah MORRIS abt. 1845 produced my g-g
grandfather Absalom CALLIN/CULLIN/ CULLEN abt 1849.
Charles was a lay minister (according to family history) in the Beaufort
Wesyleyan Methodist Church and died circa 1850.
Kind Friends (you know who you are!!!) from this list have graciously
provided me with info showing in the 1851 census:
CALLEN Hannah, h, w, 38, laundress, GLA Machen, Up Needhams Row 5,
/f129/p33
CALLEN James, sl, u, 14, coal miner, BRE Beaufort, Up Needhams Row 5,
/f129/p33
CALLEN Ann, dl, u, 10, , BRE Beaufort, Up Needhams Row 5, /f129/p33
CALLEN Absalom, s, u, 1, , BRE Beaufort, Up Needhams Row 5, /f129/p33
I am trying to find out if James and Ann the half-brother and sister of
Absalom stayed in Wales with CALLIN/CULLIN/CULLEN relatives (and who they
would be, perhaps Isaac) or if they emigrated to the US along with Hannah
and Absalom after she remarried, this time to an "unknown" PARRY.
Best regards,
