Hi Iola
I contacted the National Library of Wales directly with some similar references and they searched them for me for free, and then I paid £5.00 to have a copy sent to me so relatively inexpensive, the Library are very helpful, try going to them directly via their website or phone

> I am interested in the Evans family of Ty Mawr, Llanyngenedl, Anglesey.
> To be more specific my interest is in Margaret Evans, born at Ty Mawr,
> the daughter of William Evans, in 1677, and her ancestors.
> She married Owen Parry of Pendref, Rhodogeidio, and died on 27 April 1731.
> Her father William was the son of the Rev Robert Evans and his wife
> Peria, and a deed in 1676, mentions William's wife as being Anne, so she
> is almost certainly Margaret's mother.

> B1684/21, will of Robert Evans, gent.
> B1668/25 Evan ap Richard, of Llanynghenedl (could possibly be the father
> of Robert Evans)
> Elizabeth uch Evan in 1676, possibly sister of Robert Evans.

I would like to find information regarding the descendants of John Davies (1786-1857). He was my great-great-great grandfather. Born in Merionethshire, he was a shoemaker and a leader in the Calvinistic Methodist Chapel (Ty Capel Llwyneinion) on the outskirts of Bala. The family lived for many years across the road from the chapel. His wife's name was Mary (I believe her maiden name was Lloyd, 1790-1877).
Their sons were:
John Davies (Einion Ddu), 1819-1906, was born near Bala, Merionethshire, Wales (perhaps in Llanycil). He was married to Susannah Williams. He was also a shoemaker. He lived for a time in Llangollen, and for many years was the post master and lived at the Post Office in Tregeiriog. He won some notoriety as a poet, winning some prizes at local eisteddfodau, and he published a book of poems and also wrote a catechism for children. John and Susannah had (at least) two daughters: Mary (1849- ) and Margaret (1857- ). I believe they also had a grand daughter named Mary Ann (1877- ) and a grandson named D. C. Jones (who donated some of his grandfather's papers to the National Library of Wales in 1967-68). But I am not sure who the parents of the grandchildren are.
David Lloyd Davies (Dewi Glan Peryddon), 1830-1881, was born at Llwyneinion and was also a shoemaker, poet, and singer. He won several prizes at local and other eisteddfodau in Wales, including the national eisteddfod of 1865. About 1870, he emigrated to the U.S. and also won prizes at eisteddfodau in America. I believe he lived in Kansas at one point. He died and is buried near Waterville, Wisconsin. He may have had a wife Ellen and a son John.
John and Mary Davies also had four daughters. Jane (1822-1904) was my great-great-grandmother. In 1846, she married David C. Jones (1818-1893, born near Llanuwchllyn). They emigrated to the United States in 1847, and eventually settled in Wisconsin. I know very little about the other three daughters: Ellen (1825- ), Margaret (1827- ), and Elizabeth (1833- ).
I would appreciate any information or tips that anyone is willing to share. I am hoping to visit Wales next year.
