Dear all,
The posts below prompted me to try and find out if there is anyone who reads
these with the knowledge or resources to help me with a long standing
conundrum to resolve in this area.
I am currently looking to confirm the ancestry of a Cadwaladr Williams (born
c 1769 inYspytty Ifan) and his wife Jane Williams (born Dolwyddelen c 1774)
and am trying to make confirmed connections for both to well known families
in the area.
They married in Dolwydellan. Cadwaladr was the miller at Lansantffraid Glan
Conwy. One of their children was John Williams (1801-1859) who has an entry
in the on-line welsh biographies and a small biograpy written in welsh "Y
Lanc o Lan Conwy".
I have read that Jane williams was a first cousin to John Jones Talysarn
(via their mothers?) and also that Cadwaladr was a first cousin of the
father of John Jones Talysarn.
Janes' mother appears to be an Ann Owen (born 1751) and Hugh Williams. It
has been suggested that she is a daughter of Richard Owen (1798) and
Margaret Ach Richard (1751), which would make her a first cousin of John
Jones Talysarn.. Non of the trees published on-line identify her ...although
there is a gap in the children at this point.
Anyone with any ideas?
Kind regards,
Michael Williams

Recently we visited Dolgellau & Tywyn to research my husband John`s DANIEL
family. The Tywyn St Cadfal P Reg showed that GGrandfather Edward DANIEL
died as a result of a Gun accident and was buried 28 Aug 1856. We have
since received his Death certificate which confirms this. Does anyone know
whether there would be newspapers for this area and period available in
English to see if it was reported.
Many thanks

The ages between the children surprise me somewhat. Were there others

I am looking for the marriage and/or death of Henrietta Winifred JONES b 1897 at Llwyngwril. Her mother, also Henrietta, died shortly after her birth and on the 1901 and 1911 censuses she was a boarder with Robert and Ann Williams of Northwyn Court, Llwyngwril. Her father, David JONES 'disappears' after the death of his wife.
Would anyone who has any MI's for Meirionethshire please be kind enough to look for any Henrietta's for me. I don't know if she married, so her surname might not be Jones.
I have checked Llwyngwril graveyards and also know that there is no record of her in the Dolgellau MI's.
Many thanks for any help that anyone can offer.

Just noticed that a new series of BBC Wales & RCAHMW Hidden Histories
started tonight so will watch later on iPlayer so mentioning here for anyone
else living outside Wales who might not be aware of the series. It is
available outside Wales on both satellite and iPlayer. Series I was
repeated on BBC Four.

The first programme features
How the key to Stonehenge lies in the Preseli hills
Swansea - The Blitz and Aerofilms
The highest house in Wales
I managed to catch the first series on iPlayer and found it excellent.
