Dear list,
Does anyone know of any good articles or info on the aboce manuscripts apart
from the published manuscript no.3? I would be interested to know if there
are any descriptions of the collection apart from the precis on the Bangor
UCW website and the 2 volume hand-written catalogue.
Yours sincerely,

Anyone searching for Ancestors that emigrated to America may find this
site useful.

"CastleGarden.org offers free access to an extraordinary database of
information on 10 million immigrants from 1830 through 1892, the year
Ellis Island opened. Over 73 million Americans can trace their ancestors
to this early immigration period."
I found several of my people by searching for the surname in a time

Hi Listers,
My gg grandmother ELLINOR ROBERTS was the daughter of the Rev. Robert Roberts
of Friog and his wife Ellinor and was christened at Llanfachreth MER on
20th, February, 1805. I am searching for her marriage to THOMAS ROBERTS of
Penmachno CAE. In the 1851 Census their eldest son Robert was 21 so the marriage
should have been in or before 1830. An 1835 marriage in Capel Garmon is clearly
too late, unless Thomas was a widower (and the Aberconwy Marriage Index
indicates that he was single). I can find no relevant marriage in the Aberconwy or
Merionethshire Marriage Indexes. In 1841, the married couple were living in Tai
Newyddion Yspyty Enum. District 3, which includes Penmachno. In 1851, it was in
Tanrhiw, Penmachno. Can anyone help please?
Regards, Phil.
The crew list index project is online at www.crewlistindexproject.org.uk and
is a great reference forthe sea with links to other sites in the UK and
beyond. Highly recommend it.

Hi Phil,
I assume that as you have the exact date of marriage, you have seen the entry in the Parish Registers? If you are lucky, Johns fathers name will also be entered.
If not, the only real chance you have is to trawl through the PRs for Llangeinwen. Perhaps the archives in Llangefni might be able to help.

Hi Listers,
I have found my gg grandparents in the 1861 Census. JOHN EDWARDS was a slate
quarryman living at Tanypistyll, Festiniog. He married his wife ELIZABETH
JONES at Llandwrog CAE on 23rd, April, 1824. The census tells me that she was born
at Rhostryfan, Llandwrog about 1801. I would like to find her parents.
Husband John, according to the census was also born about 1801 in Llangeinwen AGY.
Any help with finding his parents would be much appreciated.
Regards, Phil
