Hello Alwyn, thank you very much for checking the Registers for John
Collins and his marriage to Elizabeth Roberts. I did reply to your email
on 3 October but I don't think it was delivered to you as I have just found
it in my Spam Folder! Many apologies for the delay, I hope this reaches
you.
The internet version of the IGI does say they married 'about 1760 at
Llanfachreth Par (I took this to mean Parish), Merioneth, Wales' but I suppose
the person who supplied the
information could have mistaken Llanfachreth, Merioneth for Llanfachraeth,
Anglesey.
I didn't know there was another place with a similar name, thank you for
pointing it out, it gives me another place to look for this very elusive
family.
Best wishes
Marjorie
Ian
Should you not find Efal Gam may I suggest Engan Gam which is in Mynytho.
Engan = anvil.
(G)Efa(i)l = Smithy
The name may have changed sometime over the years.

Hello List,
I'm sorry if this is duplicated.with Carnarvon Roots web
but I'm getting desperate.
I'm trying to find members of the ROBERTS Family who lived at 55 ALEXANDRA
Road Llandudno in 1910.
The tenant was Daniel Jones but it was owned by SARAH ANN ROBERTS. I'm
hoping that she is related to my family line.
My Grandfather EVAN ROBERTS b 1880 Nevin lived there with wife Emily and
son Robert Roberts.
Robert Roberts was actually born at Mount Pleasant in1909 which was owned
by DOCTOR WHITE. I presume a lying in house.
The family moved to WIND STREET just by Mount Pleasance in1910. From then
to Liverpool where it seems that family contact to Wales slowly disappeared.
I have my family line going back to ROBERT RICHARDS who married SHONET
ROBERTS in 1794 LLANGWNADLE.
There are dozens of 'my Roberts'in my tree but unfortunately I only have
contact with two other cousins neither living in Wales.
Regards
Kathy ROBERTS,HUGHES Carnarvonshire
Dear list,
I wonder if anyone knows of an Efal (Efail?) Gam somewhere in Lleyn? I
would be very interested to know as I can't find any reference to it in
Gwynedd Archives or the National Library.

I have copies of the Bishops Transcripts and Gwynedd FHS' marriage index
(extracted from the Parish Registers for the parish of Llanfachreth in
Merionethshire, unfortunately there are no Collins marriages recorded in the
period 1754 - 1766. I wonder if your Mr Collins might have married in the
similar sounding LlanfachrAeth in Anglesey.
All the best
Alwyn

Hello
Does anyone know if the Parish Records for Llanfachreth are available for
purchase anywhere? If they are not available and there's someone with
access to them I would be very grateful if you would look up the marriage
of
Elizabeth ROBERTS and John COLLINS in 1760 please. The IGI has this
marriage but
no further details about the couple.
The COLLINS/COLLINGS family I think is mine appears in Llangar and
Gwyddelwern towards the end of the 18C. so I wonder if the John and
Elizabeth above
moved to that area. Every generation I have found has a John COLLINS so
though this may be clutching at straws it's worth a try. My North Wales
COLLINS
family disappears with the death of a John COLLINS in 1851 and reappears in
South Wales in 1859 with the marriage of his grandson - John COLLINS, my
great grandfather. I've 'got' this branch of the family from then to the
present day.
Thank you
Marjorie

Iolo,
I have lost your email but was recently in Bangor where I found this 1707
will for Coningsby Williams of Penymynydd (Tynygongl MSS no 716):
cousin Robert Hampton of Henllys, Anglesey and his eldest son Richard
Hampton
late father Thomas Williams
uncle Robert Williams deceased
sister Elizabeth Overman widow
cousin Richard bulkeley of Glengorse
cousin Lodwick Owen
sister Catherine Browne widow
Coningsby Owen, Ellen Owen and Jane Owen children of cousin Michael Owen
John Hughes son of cousin Hugh Hughes
Coningsby Bristoe son of cousin Edward Bristoe
So although he didn't mention any children of his own, he could be related
to your later batch of Coningsbys??
