My Hitchings connections with Briton Ferry originate from Laugharne
Henry Hitchings married Mary Price and lived first in Llanelli, Cadoxton and finally
Briton Ferry.
His daughter, Elizabeth, one of eight children, married James Evans and lived in Neath
Road and Vernon Street. James worked in an iron works.
Their daughter Charlotte married David Lewis Evans of Sennybridge. They lived in 22,
Leonard Street Neath. David was a policeman and became an inspector of the old Neath
Borough Constabulary. They had three children, Gwyn, Walter and Margaret. Walter married
Madge Rees of "The Lion" Briton Ferry (known as "The Liitle Lion").
Gwyn ,my father joined the Civil Service, Margaret died about 1945.
The Hitchings connections ; Henry ran a shop in Neath Road and later Ritsen street.
Taliesin married Mary John and was a general haulier.
