Boast not thyself of tomorrow, for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
To the memory of MARGARET the wife of LEWIS WILLIAMS pilot, of Briton Ferry,
who died September 25th 1866 aged 39 years. Also of the above LEWIS WILLIAMS pilot,
who died November 26th 1893 aged 70 years.
“Out of the deep have I called unto thee, O Lord.”
In loving memory of ROBERT JOHN son of DAVID & MARGARET WILLIAMS
who died March 6, 1870. aged 10 months. Also MARGARET wife of the above who died
March 2 1875, aged 46 years. Also the above DAVID WILLIAMS Pilot, who was drowned
in Swansea Bay Nov 3, 1899 aged 65 years.
I have the baptism and burial records for Briton Ferry but there are a lot of Williams who
are pilots and many with the name Lewis Leyson. The easiest route is to check the 1901
Census which is available here, there is a small charge but you can pay by credit card:-
http://www.1901censusonline.com/
The 1911 Census is also on line, but is more expensive :-

If after that you need further help do not hesitate to contact me.

Mike

Subject: [WLS-GLAM-BRITONFERRY] Giants Grave Cemetery
Hello
I am wondering if anyone could help me find out some information on my husband's
Williams family. Yes, I know very common surname and everyone has a Williams family.
Philemon Williams born Jan 1885 died Nov 3 1958
Mary Catherine Jarvis Williams born 1883 (his wife)
Leyshon Williams born 1889 died Feb 23, 1966
Elizabeth Phillips Williams born 1888 (wife)
Lewis Henry Williams b. 1866
Mary Annie Lewis Williams b. 1867
Leslie Wathen Williams b. 1900 (Dec?)
These are all related either father and son or half brothers. Their father and
grandfather is David A Williams who was a pilot and drowned in Swansea Bay on Nov 3, 1899
and is buried with his first wife in Giants Grave Cemetery.
So I am wondering if anyone else in the family is also buried there.
Any help gratefully appreciated.
Thanks
