Good Evening List;
On behalf of an elderly uncle here in Ontario, Canada, I am seeking descendants of
Alfred & Susan Meadows. According to the 1901 Census, they lived at 37 Salop Place in
Penarth. There were 7 children living at home at the time so I'm hoping some of the
grandchildren might still be in the area. One of the younger daughters, Mary Ann, left
Wales shortly before World War One to enter domestic service here in Canada. She married a
Barnardo Boy by the name of Percy Arnold. Percy was killed in Flanders in 1917, leaving a
widow and an eight-month old son, Clifford. This man is my uncle by marriage. He is
nearing 88 years of age and in failing health.
My uncle would dearly love to hear from any relatives. We were recently able to find
his father's family in London and go back to around 1835 and are now concentrating on
his mother's family.
Kindest regards,
Patrick Smith
