Hi Frances,
My name is Natalia and I do have copies of the Clwyd FHS
transcriptions of the Hawarden registers. You will usually find each
person's name at the end of their message or reply.
There was no baptism of a Catherine Owens in that time period
(1821 -1840) and no mention of an Edward Owens either.
There are trade directories available for the period after about 1830
but I do not have them. They are available on microfiche for purchase
from a number of companies, try looking at the GENUKI website, or
Genfair.
Sorry this hasn't been very helpful. Hwyl, Natalia.

Subject: [FLN] Hawarden PR
Hello,
I understand that someone has access to the Hawarden Parish
Registers. Am looking
for the baptism of Catharine Owen(s) whom I have
found on the 1881 Toxteth Park, Liverpool Census which states her
birthplace as Hawarden, Flint, her age as 51 and her father as Edward
Owens, a Publican. I also have a copy of her marriage registry to
David Williams - in Chester Holy Trinity in 1848. According to family
stories, Catharine married in Chester but lived across the border in
Wales, a fact shown on the Census. The only Catharine Owens that I
have found at the local LDS office was baptized in Flint, Flintshire
on Jan. 17, 1830, the dau. of Edward Owens and Ruth Jones, who were
married in Denbigh, Denbighshire on Nov. 3, 1827. This could possibly
be the right family - especially if the Hawarden PR does not show the
bap. of Catharine.
I also wonder if there is a listing of businesses such as Pubs or
Inns, that might
show Edward Owens as being a Publican in the Hawarden
area.
Thank you,
Frances in Ontario, Canada
