If you get a copy of the marriage bond it might tell you where their parents
were from, or at least Jonathan's?

Subject: [FLN] BMD Look Ups
Catherine Holman married a Jonathan Jennings abt 1825 in Halkyn, Flint,
Many thanks Patricia - here is my problem in detail , & "Tykess"(no name on
email) for your suggestions, have already worn out IGI, the baptisms I found, the
marriage was not there. However a very kind researcher of Flintshire mines gave me the
marriage details of Catherine & Jonathan and parents names, now
I am looking for the parents marriages & or births of Catherine Holman & Jonathan
Jennings.
Parents of Catherine were given as: Nathaniel Holman & Johanna Northway
Parents of Jonathan were given as: Joseph Jennings & Catherine Jones
I am trying to establish if perhaps Nathaniel & Joseph were as I suspect Cornishmen,
who went to work in the Welsh Mines at some stage, and perhaps married while they were
there. There is a Nathaniel B1767 & a Joseph B1766 that fit the time line born in
Cornwall, so anything is possible.
Catherine Holman married a Jonathan Jennings abt 1825 in Halkyn, Flint, they had two sons
Joseph 1825 & William 1827. This family ended up in Gwennap, Cornwall and remained
there, tho, no Jonathan is listed in the 1841 Census, Joseph B1825 went on to marry 1847
(we have the certificate) and migrated to Australia 1851. All show born Cornwall.
Perhaps these families wandered back and forth between Wales & Cornwall - who would
know, perhaps the sons of Catherine & Jonathan, did not know they were born in Wales,
as all documentation shows them born in Cornwall.
Many thanks to all those that responded, I bet you are sorry you asked now. I may not
contribute much, look and listen a lot, then I come up with a goodie. I call it staying
out of mischief(grin)
Have a good day everyone.............rgds Cj - Aus
