Summer Hill was on the Chester road going towards Oakenholt which is where Penre Ffwrndan
is located, known locally as Pentre.
There's a reference to it here:
http://www.roman-britain.org/places/pentre.htm
I've never heard of a Pentre road in Flint So I suspect it's what Chester road
used to be called or it was a local name for Chester Road.
There are some photos of old maps posted here with Summer Hill and Pentre on them:

Also loads of photos of Fflint old and new that are well worth a look at.

I have a birth certificate dated 1878 with the address as Summer
Hill, Pentre Road, Flint.
I note that there is a Summer Mill to the south of Flint but does anyone know where the
above may have been?
Thanks
Howard
