Apologies for the fact that this message is not specific to the list,

a general enquiry, and also I apologise to anyone getting this on more than
one list. I have sent it to all the lists I am on, to try and reach that one
person who might know the answer.
Has anyone any idea of how to go about checking out and possibly finding the
birth certificate (or the information it contains) for someone who was born
in Massachusetts.
I think I have just found my great-grandfather living in Lowell, Middlesex,
Mass. on the American 1880 census. This has come as a major surprise,
although it does explain why I can't find him or his parents on the English
1881 as expected. He was born in England, but on this census he has younger
siblings born in US. I would like to track the birth of any of these children
to check the mother's maiden name. This is to positively identify him as the
correct Albert Edward BURKETT.
Can anyone point me in the right direction.
