Thank you so much - this confirms the possible parents I had for Samuel
(and explains why I could not seem to find anything about a marriage -
the only LLGC marriage I could see for Catherine Roberts to Robert
Foulkes was January 1819 at Llandrillo yn Rhos, Denbigh with Robert as a
farmer, so dates and locations looked unlikely)
I wonder if they never actually married - another lister sent me 1851
census details for a Robert Foulkes - age 67 born northop / unmarried /
butcher lodging at Main street Northop. This could be Samuel's father
(making his birth in Northop around 1784 ???
Thank you again for your help John

Hi Amanda
No connection at this time but they are in the right area, the Northop
baptisms entry:
1808
Jul 31 3(born on)
Roberts, (Foulkes) Samul bs Robert Foulkes Catherine Robts F-N
F = Flint; N = Northop
So it would appear the parents were not married at the time of Samuel's
birth and baptism.

Susan
I have a feeling our lines may be connected somewhere, but I'm not sure
of the exact link.
I have:
SAMUEL FOULKES born Northop 1808.
Married Mary Evans (b 1808 Bryn y Bal / christened May 1808 Argoed) at
Holywell April 1830.
They then lived at Tai Bowen, Pontblyddyn and had children Mary, Sarah,
Robert, Margaret, Samuel, Ann.
I think Samuel's father was ROBERT FOULKES, and given ages / locations
could certainly be related to (brother ?) your Elizabeth Foulkes,
particularly if her father was called Robert?.
I have a note that Samuel's mother may have been Catherine Roberts, but
have not found a marriage between Robert Foulkes / Catherine Roberts pre
1808 to confirm this.
