Hallo
I wonder if someone could help with information on Julia Coyne. She was born in 1844 in
Mount Mellick, Queen's County, Ireland but lived in England for much of her life. I
know that in 1891 she was living in Burnley, Lancashire. However, having been widowed in
1892, she must have moved to Wales. She died on 4 March 1924 at 2 Halkyn Road, Holywell
and is buried in Holywell cemetery close to her son Thomas Francis Coyne. I can't find
her in the 1901 census and wonder if she was already living in Flintshire. Anything that
anyone can tell me about her after 1891 would be of use.
Thank you.

Hi,
I am trying to trace families from the Holywell, Mostyn and Bagillt
areas who have a Joseph THOMAS in them from 1840 to 1850 (or children
who died between censuses). I want to confirm I have located the
correct person and parents.
I know the person I am looking for has:
1) Father's name of John (from marriage cert to Mary LUKE).
2) Our Joseph gave the age of 23 on his marriage cert from 1865 (Born
1842)
3) Our Joseph appears in the 1871 and 1881 census born 1842 and 1843.
4) Occupations in these fit as lead smelter / miner
BMD search
----------------
All data points to my Joseph born 1842-43 to father called John and
from mining families.
However, BMD records show three people born 1840 to 1845
1 has the father as 'John' born in 1843 (and mother Hannah from the
record).
1 definitely does not and the other I am looking into.
CENSUS searches - do you know anyone in these families?
-------------------------
Finding the John and Hannah family in the census brings up only one
with a six year difference in given and true birth date.
Name: Joseph Thomas - son
Father: John THOMAS (lead smelter / collier - fits my family)
Mother: Hannah TRUEMAN (from BMD cert of a Joseph born in 1843)
Birth: abt 1849 - Bagillt, Flintshire, Wales **** 6 years out but
right area
Residence: 1851 - Bagillt, Flintshire, Wales - right area.
An alternative is this: 1841 family (who have Joseph aged 10 in
1851. mother MARY and father JOHN deceased):
1841 - Whitford Villiage. No trades mentioned but they own a farm and
have servants in 1851.
Mary b 1837 - Whitford
Mary b 1809 - Whitford
John b 1804 - Whitford
Sarah b 1835 - Whitford.
However, if we believe the ages, this Joseph is born in 1841 BUT the
BMD search says none born for: 1837, 1838, 1839, 1840, 1841, 1844
and none to parents Mary and John in the next few years!
The ages of this family appear accurate accross censuses so where are
they in the BMD?
So, I thought that if I try and trace Josephs around this time I might
be able to rule out others to give a higher change of finding the
right one.
The Joseph I am looking for is found in the census as below as the
father.
1881
------
Joseph THOMAS b 1842 - head age 38, Labourer born in whitford (follow
this family through the later census and personal records, it says
born in Bagillt area so could be either).
Wife Mary (Luke) born in Greenfield age 38.
John (E) - born Bagillt - age 6 weeks.
Richard H b 1871 age 10 Born Whitford. - scholar
Edward b 1878 in Holywell age 3
Emily born 1863 in Holywell now age 18
Joseph William is age 7, born in Holywell, living in Bagillt.
