Here is an obit that was listed in The Chromicle Herald January 13 2009. It's a
newspaper here in Nova Scotia Canada. I am posting it just incase someone out there may
have a connection to the family.
GOREHAM, Beryl
Bear Point, passed away in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on January 11, 2009, surrounded by
her loving family. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Goreham; daughters, Hannah, Ella
and Natasha; sister, Irene Porter; brother, Henry Porter, as well as many friends. Born on
April 18, 1941, and raised in Prestatyn, North Wales, she graduated with a diploma in Art
and Design from Wimbleton Arts College and a teacher's diploma from Lecheister
College. An avid adventurer, she moved to Canada in 1968, after taking a teaching position
at Barrington Municipal High School, where she helped establish a thriving art program for
over 20 years. She encouraged the community by organizing and directing after-school and
evening classes, repeatedly gaining recognition for student work on a national level.
Eventually settling in Bear Point, she devoted countless hours to her garden while
imparting her sense of curiousity, independence, determination, and love of life to those
around her. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 18, in Anglican
Church of Ascension, Barrington, Rev. Sandra Fyfe officiating. In lieu of flowers,
memorial donations may be made to the Rosalin Nickerson Care Fund in memory of Beryl
Goreham. On-line condolences may be sent to: huskilson(a)ns.aliantzinc.ca, or you may sign
